FREE
FASD Screening & Diagnosis Training
for NC Medical Professionals

(CMEs and Contact Hours available.)

We are excited to announce that, in partnership with NCDHHS, NCFASD Informed is providing a free training in FASD

screening and diagnosis to NC medical professionals.

Did You Know?

According to the CDC, FASD impacts as many as 1 in 20

in the US -- 2.5 times more than autism.

In 2021, of the over 118,700 babies born annually in North

Carolina, over 5,900 were estimated to have an FASD. Our

current diagnostic capacity is a only few hundred,

leaving several thousand undiagnosed and underserved.

Roughly 85% of children seen in diagnostic clinics are

either adoptees or are in foster care. Children living with

their biological parents lack access to diagnosis due to

stigma and untrained medical staff.

This training will substantially expand diagnostic capacity in our state and is the first step to getting those living with FASD the support and services they need.

Upon completion of the training, the practitioners will be listed as diagnosticians on the NCFASD Informed website.

Let's expand FASD diagnosis in North Carolina!
