Becoming FASD informed - March e-newsletter 2019
March 2019 e-newsletter
FASD informed Communities
Parenting a child who is experiencing neurobehavioral challenges can be very isolating.
We are extending our reach to those affected by FASD throughout North Carolina by adding three social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. Look for postings of events, resources, and articles of interest directly pertaining to families living with FASD.
As the mother of a teenager with a diagnosed FASD, I know how important it is to find places to meet other parents to share resources and offer support. Although support groups and workshops are my first choice for face-to-face support, social media also bring me a sense of community on a daily (or hourly) basis. Social media can increase our conversations about FASD, hopefully leading to increased services and resources for families and caregivers in North Carolina.
Social media is yet another way to forward the overall goal of NCFASD Informed: to provide Education, Advocacy, and Support to help those impacted by FASD. I am honored to be a part of this much needed organization.
